XENA Warrior Princess meets The Lord of the Rings in GODFELL: The Complete Series, where the sudden appearance of a dead god who falls to Earth sets off a chain reaction of events for control of the world in this woman warrior-led, high fantasy adventure.

God is dead. Who’s next?

One sunny day in the land of Kerethim, God falls dead from the sky. The impact sends out shockwaves that draw in royal families at war, shadowy creatures of the dark, and armies of the dispossessed, all coming to lay claim to parts of God’s body. Into this power struggle wanders Zanzi Vuiline, a soldier and berserker trying to get home from a years-long war. Forced to fight her way through the strange landscapes in and on God’s corpse, from the soles of its feet through the top of its head, Zanzi will acquire a mysterious traveling companion on her own pilgrimage.

GODFELL: The Complete Series tells the story of a fierce warrior woman tired of war and her traveling companion with her own reasons for war weariness – and revenge. These two forces of nature are on a journey to find their way back home – and to themselves. Written by Eisner Award-nominated author Chris Sebela and illustrations by rising star artist Ben Hennessy.

For fans of: Xena: Warrior Princess, Monstress (Liu/Takeda), Red Sonja, Barbaric (Moreci/Gooden), Queen of Swords (Moreci/Howell/Gooden), Briar, Step By Bloody Step, The Witcher, Rat Queens, The Many Deaths of Laila Starr, Die, Coda, Seven to Eternity, Isola, and Elf Quest.

Godfell is that rare idea that makes me upset I didn’t hatch it myself: an axe-swinging yet soulful journey into the mysteries of the physical realm — and beyond.” — Daniel Kraus (New York Times bestselling author of: The Shape of Water, Whalefall, The Teddies Saga, The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch, Trollhunters, THE AUTUMNAL (Vault Comics), THE CEMETERIANS (Vault Comics), and more!)

Godfell is completely sweeping me away with its Odysseus-like journey home through beautiful landscapes, with a rich lore and compelling characters. It holds mysteries I can’t wait to see resolved but I’ll enjoy the path as patiently as I can. A brilliant work by the creators!” – Nora Twomey (award-winning animator, director, screenwriter, producer and voice actress. Known for: Wolfwalkers, My Father’s Dragon, The Breadwinner, The Secret of Kells)

“Fantasy doesn’t get more epic than this! The mother of all quests begins here!” –Cavan Scott (New York Times bestselling author and screenwriter: Star Wars: The High Republic, Shadow Service, Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes, 2000 A.D.)

Godfell ushers in an exciting new fantasy comic that is electrifying and dynamic with a magnetic woman warrior on a mysterious journey. Sebela takes well-worn genre beats and makes it his own. Wonderfully illustrated and eloquently written, Godfell is a godsend. 10/10– Lotusland Comics

“… recommend picking this up if you’re a fan of fantasy adventures in weird worlds such as The Last Airbender.” – Sequential Planet

SOME WORLDS ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN.

From #1 New York Times bestselling, Hugo Award-winning author, Brandon Sanderson (The COSMERE Univserse, The MISTBORN TRILOGY, The STORMLIGHT ARCHIVE series, co-author of The Wheel of Time Vol. 12-14 with Robert Jordan, consulting producer on The Wheel of Time series from Amazon Studios ), along with Nathan C. NOW IN TRADE PAPERBACK!

Paul Tanasin is a young man haunted by visions of a dark and fantastic world—visions he initially believes are hallucinations. But when he discovers they are prophecies from Mirandus, a world in which he’s destined to become a fearsome destroyer, he’ll have to embrace the fear, rise up as the Dark One, and shatter everything. DARK ONE examines the dual roles we often take on in life-the ability to be a savior as well as a destroyer.

Praise:

It’s a literary comic that blends high concept storytelling interests across genres without sacrificing any of the craft, structure, or character development needed to make narratives compelling and immersive.“ — Comics Bookcase

Interview with Jackson Lanzing

  1. What Winter holidays do you celebrate in December and January … and how do you celebrate them?

I was raised by druids, so I celebrate the Winter Solstice – but I love Christmas as a tradition generally, and my parents always celebrated that one too. Nothing like having a fresh tree in the home for a couple months – especially since it gives my cat an exciting new place to hide and make chaos.

  1. What traditions are old family traditions?

A huge homecooked meal on Christmas Day is a tradition that echoes back generations in my family – one I’ve definitely carried forward. I celebrate with a group of friends every year, since it’s often difficult to get the time off between deadlines to actually travel to visit family. My wife makes latkes. It’s phenomenal.

  1. What sort of activities during the holidays are your favorites?

I really love taking the time to hibernate. Just really let the stress of the world fall away and get to focus on friends and family.

  1. What are your favorite holiday memories from adulthood?

Does “watching the entirety of the Crown on Netflix while bundled up with my wife and cat” count as a memory? Gods, I’m dull.

  1. What are your favorite holiday foods?

We regularly celebrate “Ham Week” in my house – during which I use every part of the ham to create dishes following the big dinner. You’ve never had a soup quite like my ham-and-pea.

The Winter Holidays and your book’s characters!

  1. How do your book’s characters celebrate the holidays? Do they celebrate with family & friends?

Paul Tanasin hasn’t had a nice family dinner since he was a very young man – and genuinely, I’m not sure if he properly remembers the ones he did have. The effect of the Narrative is strong.

  1. What do they eat?

Lin used to bring her family over, they’d make dumplings as a holiday tradition and feed the whole law firm for weeks. But these days, I feel like she barely even remembers it’s happening until it’s already underway. The characters in DARK ONE are pretty overwhelmed… so they probably order out.

As for Mirandus… who knows what holidays they celebrate there? Sounds like I gotta make a call to Brandon…
