An introverted doctor, a vivacious artist, and an island full of geriatric matchmakers. What could go wrong?

It might be Winslow Island’s annual Matchmaking Festival, but Tessa has more important things to worry about, like how to keep her mother’s bed and breakfast in business. She definitely doesn’t have time for an arrogant doctor with a sexy smirk.

Parker’s life is as precise and planned as the surgeries he performs. He’s on track for a career-making promotion – if he can improve his bedside manner. When his mother plans his father’s seventieth birthday party for the same weekend as the Matchmaking Festival, Parker suspects he’s in for a series of sneaky setups. He doesn’t expect a fiery redhead to crash into him in a shower of glitter, wreaking havoc with his plans and his heart.

Tessa is the only woman brave enough to tame his arrogance, and Parker holds the key to saving her mother’s business. Can they put aside their differences long enough to admit the attraction growing between them and get what they both need?

Or will a life-changing decision drive them further apart?

Join the residents of Winslow Island for a fun-filled, sweet romance – full of piggyback rides, scrumptious baked goods, and colorful characters guaranteed to make you come back for more.

“Is that him?” Gabby slapped Tessa’s leg like an overexcited Chihuahua. “That has to be him. Tessa, is that him? Tell me it’s him.”

Tessa laughed. “I told you I don’t know what he looks like.”

“Just look,” Gabby begged.

There was no point arguing with Gabby when she got something in her head. Tessa lowered her arms, the balloon bouncing against her thigh as she peered into the dwindling crowd. Her model had to be one of the few pedestrians heading this way.

One couple.

Another couple with two pudge-cheeked kids and a scraggly furred dog.

Another couple.

Tessa couldn’t see any men walking alone. He didn’t mention traveling with anyone. “Are you sure you saw him? Which one did you think…”

Oh.

Soft brown hair; eyes, too far away to notice the color but striking enough to make her heart feel like it was thumping inside of her throat. He wore a tight-cut charcoal-grey suit — more formal than anything her previous models wore — that hinted at hard curves beneath.

He definitely had the body of a model, but not hers.

He was beautiful.

Too beautiful.

Her models were usually elderly, with sagging skin and greying hair; the contours of their bodies made for soft, delicate strokes on paper. This man would be all hard lines and bold strokes.

His gaze found hers.

Tessa’s breath caught in her throat.

“Oh my,” Gaby squeaked.

About the Author

Always been a fan of science fiction and fantasy. Been writing it for years and will until I am have been lowered into the ground. My first novel, “Mostly Human,” has been in my head and on paper for years. There are more stories of 4Pollack and working on the next one as fast as I can. Also, I have spread my areas into urban fantasy noir with “Janus City,” space Opera with “Blood for the Empress” and even military sci-fi with “I.S.S. Starkiller.” And now, I must go back to my scribblings.

“Dear Diary, On September 3, 1982, two things happened that I’ll never forget: I acquired an older sister, and I fell in real love. But tell me, what does an eight-year-old know about love?”

For nearly a decade, Hosea Felix and Gomer Williams were inseparable. She loved him from the moment she laid eyes on him. Their friendship was iron-clad until temptation rocked Gomer to her core. Somewhere along the way, she fell for another guy and traded young love for instant pleasure. Not only is Jeri Cole fine—he is a bonafide gangsta, unattainable, and off-limits. Jeri was all Gomer could think about, and the only thing she thought she wanted. Despite her big sister already laying claim to him, not much could stop Gomer from clawing at the possibility of love and diva status. Getting with Jeri felt right…but at what cost?

Gomer never backed down. She is the original bad girl—ratchet, bougie, and insatiable. Feel like you wanna dislike her? Well, get in line.

They Call me Gomer… JC Miller’s sophomore spin-off novel enthralls readers with a deeply woven, emotionally heart-tugging take on the Book of Hosea. By examining rape culture, drug addiction, family secrets, and the vulnerabilities of young Black girls in pursuit of fortune and fame, this contemporary tale gives those in search of a good dra-mance all the feelings!

She will chase after her lovers but not catch them; she will look for them but not find them. Then she will say, “I will go back to my husband as at first, for then I was better off than now.  Hosea 2:7
